So I decided to start the Daily UI challenge as a way to test my design chops and try out new trends. For as many of these challenges as possible, I will be focusing on Mobile UI's. I don't get a chance to work on mobile only interfaces much and I love to learn by doing! Here's how day 1 went.

Prompt: Sign Up Create a sign up page, modal, form, or app screen related to signing up for something. It could be for a volunteer event, contest registration, a giveaway, or anything you can image.

I didn't go too deep into the sign up flow process for this because I would break it up into a few screens since it's mobile. I'm trying to keep these challenges quick and easy 😊

Screen 1: Splash/Landing Screen

For this challenge, I created an automated savings company called cardï - inspired by Cardi B 🤌🏾. I'm big on financial wellness these days and want to dabble into financial technology a bit more. The icon represents a shift to financial freedom. I chose a dark mode theme with bright neon accent colors. For the action buttons, I decided to separate the sign-in and login flows. My original thinking was that the new user onboarding flow and login flow should look and feel different.

👩🏾‍💻🧠: Since I decided to go for a mobile sign-in option, I could have used just the 'get started' button and recognize if the user is new or not after the sign-up with their preferred option on the next screen. The edge case is if the user doesn't remember their initial sign-up method, selects a different method and the system is recognizing them as a new user. I hate when that happens! So that's something that would have to be figured out. For now, I'd rather them click login and if they select the wrong method, the system will tell them to try another method.

Screen 2: Sign-Up page

I decided to go with a mobile sign-up option to make it easier for users to get started. With mobile, showing users a long sign-up form can lower conversion rates. Since this is the users first introduction to the brand (in my mind), we want high conversions and an easy account creation process.

👩🏾‍💻🧠: One thing I thought about as well, is since this is a a financial technology company, I'm wondering if we need the extra friction since we will be storing personal user data. Will we need a formal KYC process? I honestly didn't think that much about it for this challenge but these are questions that would have to be addressed.

Stay tuned for the next challenge! 🎉
